Cranbourne gardens

History, indeginous Hi, welcome back to Ivi Potato Frog’s blog!

For history this term we went to have an adventure in Cranbourne gardens to have aboriginal learning and an enjoyable fun time on Tuesday 27th of May!

The bus ride was 1 hour long, but I didn’t get bored once!

We firstly went to a small playground/garden to play a bit and eat fruit snack, after we each got assigned a parent helper which I got Kieran’s mother with my best friend Bella and also Joseph!

There was 3 friendly teacher guides and we got a Steve who is traditionally aboriginal, so we finally set off!

First we went to a small place where Steve talked to us about spears; boomerangs; weaved baskets; possum skin and Steve also showed us how to make fires!

Next we went to the food garden where we smelled lemon mantle and native citrus, we also listened to Steve talk about other fun aboriginal food/plants!

After that we went aboriginal painting on the ground and each other!Steve even let us each put a hand print on a rock wall!

Best of all we went on a treasure hunt and did fun activities with our groups!A few of the activities are:Making stick sculptures, stick wands ,tallest tree and strongest smell!

Finally we went to a giant playground which my friend Bella accidentally face planted into the sand!

Would you like to go to Cranbourne Garden?
